On 2 August 2009, H.E. Mr. Kitti Wasinondh, Thai Ambassador to the UK and his wife opened the 2009 Thai Summer Fair in Bournemouth, together with Mrs. Beryl Baxter, Mayor of Bournemouth. This is the 6th time the fair has been jointly organized by the Thai community in Bournemouth and its local authorities. The festival showcased various Thai cultural performances such as Thai dances, Khon, North Eastern dances, traditional Thai musics, Thai boxing, Krathong competition, as well as booths selling Thai foods, products and handicrafts. The event was well attended by Thais and locals from Bournemouth and its vicinity.
