COMPETITION WINNERS ANNOUNCED

 

We are pleased to announce the lucky winners of our flight and accommodation prize draw! The winner entries were drawn at random by the Ambassador for Thailand on Friday June 18th.

 

First Prize: One pair of return tickets from London to Bangkok with Thai Airways with two nights accommodation at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Bangkok, including breakfast.

Thai Dance Academy 

London’s premier Thai dance group, Thai Dance Academy, will be performing regularly at Taste of Thailand over the course of the festival. Now well known for their appearances at various UK festivals over the years, and most recently at the Thailand at Trafalgar Square Festival, Thai Dance Academy, will showcase dances from the four regions of Thailand.

 

Thai Music Circle in the UK

thai_music_circle_imageThis year we are proud to bring the Thai Music Circle UK, the only Thai traditional music ensemble in Europe, to the Taste of Dublin festival.

 

The group was formed in 1991 under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn, the much loved daughter of the current King of Thailand, who donated a full set of Thai instruments to the Royal Thai Embassy, London for the Circle’s use.

 

The Thai Music Circle were last seen performing at Thailand at Trafalgar Square.

Cooking Demonstrations 


 

Guest Chef: Pattarachok Pattarakulchock

Pattarachok is originally from Bangkok but now lives in Dublin. He is a Thai chef who also caters for private parties.

 

Pattarachok will be sharing his best cooking tips with visitors to Taste of Thailand on Thursday 10th June.


 

Diep

Now with three branches comprising of a fine dining restaurant, relaxed noodle bar and a dedicated take-away, Diep serves classic Thai dishes with a contemporary twist.

 

The restaurant, Diep Le Shaker has recently been nominated as the best Asian restaurant in Dublin and the Diep Noodle Bar is already awarding winning having been voted the Best Restaurant in Ranelagh in April 2010.

 

 Diep cooking demonstrations take place throughout the day on Friday 11th June.


 

Pink Elephant

 We are awaiting more restaurant details for Pink Elephant.

 

Pink Elephant cooking demonstrations take place on the morning of Saturday 12th June.


 

Blue Orchid

The Blue Orchid, Blackrock, prides itself on well balanced, authentic Thai dishes as well as classic Japanese cuisine for added variety.

 

  Blue Orchid cooking demonstrations are on the afternoon of Saturday 12th June.


 

Saba
Saba, situated in Dublin 2, is an award winning Thai, Vietnamese restaurant serving a mix of classic and contemporary Asian cuisine. With a warm and stylish “colonial meets contemporary” interior, the restaurant boasts a Head Chef who has catered for the King and Queen of Thailand.

 

Saba cooking demonstrations take place throughout the day on Sunday 13th June.
