Thai Buddhism in the UK:
Amaravati Buddhist Monastery – Based in leafy Hertfordshire this Theravada Buddhist monastery follows the Thai Forest Tradition. The monastery offers Dhamma talks and a meditation retreat centre.
Buddhapadipa Temple – The first Buddhist temple in London, Wat Buddhapadipa is based in Wimbledon We still can’t believe how much London can look like Thailand! This temple acts a centre for the celebration of Buddhist festivals and more specifically-Thai festivals including Songkran and Loy Krathong. Also offers classes and meditation retreats.
Chithurst Buddhist Monastery – Cittaviveka is a Theravada Buddhist monastery based in Chithurst in the countryside. The monastery offers meditation workshops and talks based on the themes of the Dhamma.
The Forest Hermitage – Thai Theravada Buddhist temple in Warwick and a branch of Wat Nong Pah Pong in North Eastern Thailand. The Hermitage offer weekend retreats and evening talks and meditation sessions.
